Tambaram – The Navaratri Golu Exhibition in Selaiyur is one of the most cherished cultural celebrations during the Navaratri season. Every year, households and community venues carefully set up traditional Golu arrangements with beautifully crafted dolls placed in tiered steps, representing gods, goddesses, epics, and scenes from everyday life. This festive setup is not just decorative but deeply symbolic, reflecting devotion, creativity, and cultural heritage.
Throughout the nine days of Navaratri, the exhibition becomes a lively gathering point where visitors are welcomed with warmth, prayers, and prasadam. Cultural programs such as classical music, devotional songs, and dance performances are organized in many places, creating a spiritual and festive atmosphere. Women and children actively participate by sharing kolams, bhajans, and storytelling sessions connected to the Golu tradition.
The event also strengthens community bonding in the Tambaram region, as neighbors come together to exchange ideas, visit each other’s displays, and celebrate the festival with unity and joy.
