Tambaram – Residents in several interior areas of Tambaram have planned a protest and possible road blockade on the busy GST Road due to severely damaged roads that were left unrepaired after underground cable installation work.
According to local reports, roads in multiple residential streets were dug up for electricity cable laying and have remained in poor condition for several months. The unfinished restoration has caused potholes, uneven surfaces, and difficulty for two-wheelers, autos, and daily commuters. Residents claim that repeated complaints to civic authorities have not led to proper action, leading to growing frustration among the public.
Locals have warned that if immediate repair work is not carried out, they will stage a protest on GST Road to draw attention to the issue and demand urgent road restoration. The situation has also raised concerns about traffic safety and accessibility for emergency and delivery services in the affected areas.
